"The student and I continued preparing for his upcoming exam. We practiced solving systems of equations with three and two variables. When he was feeling more comfortable with that, we spent a good deal of time working with logarithms, including solving logarithmic equations and converting logarithms into exponents (and vice versa). Finally, we worked on several problems that involved the negative radicals and the imaginary number i."
"I'm so happy for the student! She got a 36/36 on her last test!! Today, we reviewed a little of every chapter that has been covered since the semester began to be ready for finals next week. We will meet again before the 2nd part of her final exam."
"We covered the midterm study guide. The student did very well. He seemed very well prepared for the exam itself based on the variety of problems we had done in the study guide itself. I would continue to go over the notes from class and even look online at some online notes problems to better prepare you for the exam. Overall, excellent work and see you next week!"
"The first thing the student and I went over was her decimals math test. She missed two problems, so we went over both and she was able to see where she made her mistakes. Overall, she got 16/18 points, which is an 88% or B+. We also went over some of the new material she is covering and I had her answer some practice questions online. She did well and seems to have a good grasp of basic ratios and ratio tables. I introduced her to the concept of equivalent ratios, which she should be going over next. The third thing we went over was her upcoming ELA project and we went over what she is covering and where she should be finding information for her paper and her model. She seems well equipped to do well there and she says she will start this weekend. Overall, she made a good effort today and I look forward to seeing her again next week."
"We started by going over what the student is learning in class, which is graphing equations in standard form. She is doing very well with this, but it is all very new, so repetition is helpful. We then worked on some worksheets I brought on solving inequalities and proportion word problems. She picked up both topics very quickly. Then we continued to work through my word problem workbook."
"The student has a test next week so we reviewed the questions the teacher had given to her. We also solved some questions relating to the topic they would be testing on. I also solved the previous test questions with her because the teacher had told them the test involve some of the questions on the first test. The topics we dealt with were dividing polynomials, graphing polynomials, simplifying and writing standard equations from the roots."
