Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We specifically covered the topic of limits of multivariable functions in a multitude of different problems. We explored how to solve for these limits in the easiest method possible and by using the Squeeze theorem. The student understood all the topics almost immediately after being taught. He was learning primarily with his textbook, so having someone guide him through the steps of solving a problem allows him to learn the concepts that he is not comfortable with."
"The student was doing extra credit problems and needed help on some of the word problems. I helped her set up problems using systems of equations and inequalities. I also checked over the other problems she'd done and helped her find some small mistakes she'd made."
"In today's session, we worked on convergence and divergence of sequences and series, which was the main focus of the student's most recent exam. We also walked through Taylor series and trig substitutions in integrals again. She is doing much better with all of this material, but we do have a lot more to review though. I think it is really helping her that we are doing each problem step by step. We are going to meet again on Sunday where we will review a few more topics from the second exam, then hopefully review the more recent material such as polar coordinates."
"Covered long division of polynomials, synthetic division, finding possible rational zeros, and solving for real zeros using synthetic division and graphing. Practiced problem solving steps by completing homework problems."
"The student completed a performance task that required her to plan for a party. She had to think critically on how she was going to complete the task. She had various settings that she needs to complete and follow up questions."
"We covered solving equations by elimination, substitution, and graphing. The student understood the concept of everything, but she still has trouble with operations that involve multiple signs. I gave her many problems to do during the session that involved just that aspect. I also wrote down guidelines on solving elimination problems in her notebook."
