Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I covered chapter 24 changes in Eva Lucian in preparation for his exam. We reviewed the lecture notes for 45 minutes. We spent the remainder of the session doing multiple-choice questions from the practice book. Lastly, we completed 30 multiple-choice questions specific to chapter 24. He understands the material really well and we spent time going over specific concepts including kinds of speciation and reading cladograms."
"We covered the first part of the analysis #2 project, setting up the baseline value table and computing the relevant statistics (mean, standard deviation, count, etc.). The computer sheet was analyzed for these basic values, and we began to touch on the computation of the one-tailed and two-tailed t tests. We will continue with these analyses on Friday."
"We covered the rest of topic 1, which included Ideal Gas Laws and started topic 2. In topic 2 we covered the Atom as well as the Mass Spectrometer and touched upon the Electromagnetic Spectrum. The student seemed to deeply understand all of the Topic 1 concepts and did well in the practice questions that she had completed. I will be sending additional Topic 2 questions for her to complete."
"We reviewed topics of special senses (hearing, seeing, smelling, and tasting), the cardiovascular system, and the nervous system. The student learns quickly with repetition and was confident that he had mastered the material by the end of the session."
"We covered principles of physical assessment of all body systems, in preparation of the student's re-assessment tomorrow. I again stressed the importance of repetition and rehearsal when it comes to mastering these skills."
"In this session, we discussed the physiology of muscle contraction, and its relationship to myofascial trigger points. We also discussed the energy sources available to muscles. Finally, we discussed the anatomy of the knee and shoulder joints, and why they are prone to injury."
