Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"This week, the students and I continued our work on navigating the towns of Saint Martin to find places of interest or practical need. Specifically, we introduced and practiced: * relative prepositions of location, such as 'to the right/left of', 'across from', 'between,' and 'next to'; * expressions of distance; * other directions-oriented vocabulary like 'continue', 'turn', and '(traffic) light'; and * regular and ordinal numbers from 1-10, for purposes of giving addresses and of specifying which traffic light to turn at (or which light from the current location will mark a particular street). We then applied all of our navigation and direction vocabulary to tell where particular streets and businesses were located on maps of a few communities in Saint Martin. The students will continue to make the most of our time together to practice communicating, ask insightful questions, and relate the material we work with to their experiences in Saint Martin so far. It's a pleasure to work with them."
"In this session, the student and I reviewed the conjugation and usage of the verb 'faire'. We also continued to reinforce the material we've gone over previously."
"Covered thesis statements with Student A in order to improve the structure of his writing. Student B and I worked on practice for the reading/writing section of one of his upcoming exams."
