Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We finished his math homework, reviewed vocabulary for his history quiz (he was confused about two of them, but we got that sorted out just fine), and reviewed two more chapters of "Bridge to Terabithia" for his test over the book."
"Review of random topics selected by student from test (chi-square; linear-equations-related problems; Venn diagrams)."
"Today, we went through the student's math homework on regression: how to do linear regression, finding equations, linear regression coefficient, and how to use the date to predict future events."
"I had my first session with the student today. She is a bright kindergartener. We read sight words, and she worked on a couple of workbook pages for shapes. I left a workbook there, so if she gets a chance, she can work on some pages. She is excited to work with me and her mom seemed excited too!"
"The student and I continued to review for her exam. We went over a worksheet for class on line plots including fractions. She had trouble understanding this at first, so we did additional practice problems after finishing the worksheet. She did such a great job staying focused, and fully understood the topic by the end of the session. We had some extra time, so we practiced some multiplication (which she said is hard for her) and adding and subtracting fractions."
"The student did such a great job with regrouping on addition and subtraction. I was impressed! Since he counts on his fingers for the sum or difference, he still is getting some wrong. There's new research that talks about the good points of counting on fingers, though. So we just need to work on doing that correctly. We will continue to work on this."
