Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We prepared for the student's midterm and went over some problems we felt were important and were most likely to come up on the midterm. We did some relativity problems along with some incline problems. Generally he went through the problems pretty smoothly and pretty quickly. I did feel that he needed to go over some of his trig concepts and some of the more important problems in his problem set. Overall a good session."
"The student and I began the topics of Electricity. We discussed simple circuits (batteries, wires, and light bulbs all in series), including when a circuit was completed, where the electric potential originated, and how one could tell that electricity was flowing. We also discussed capacitors and determining the electrical flow in a circuit through the use of a compass. We worked on problems from a worksheet."
"During this session we focused on springs and simple harmonic motion. We looked at systems with multiple springs attached to a block. We discussed how to find the spring constant and thus the period for these systems. We also looked at periods of pendulums and how the value for "g" affects the period of the pendulum. We also discussed how to find the uncertainty of a calculated value like linear density."
