Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I reviewed circles, inscribed angles, central angles and proportions of chords and radii."
"Reviewed for the math test and worked through a practice packet. Also reviewed AP world because she has a unit test soon. We will focus on AP world for longer during our next session."
"3D graphing, solving for distance, defining vertices, end lengths, and face sides. Solving word problems on a 3D graph."
"We covered one step algebraic equations and writing algebraic expressions from word phrases. The only issue the student had was showing his work when checking his answers. He is able to solve the problem in his head and he does not yet see the value in showing his work. I stressed that while these problems seem straightforward now, learning how to show work now will make the more challenging problems less stressful later."
"The student and I looked at a worksheet and then some online work over finding the zeros of polynomials. The thing that was mixing him up was the complex set of numbers you sometimes get for higher order polynomials. We practiced a lot of problems and he seemed much clearer on them."
"The student and I practiced solving quadratic equations by manipulating fractions. We went through two chapters of material and discussed strategies for solving each function that included squaring terms, taking the square root of terms, taking the cube root of terms, and cross-multiplying."
