"The student and I worked on his chapter worksheet, 8-10, on fractions of whole numbers. We talked about the upcoming test."
"Reviewed math notes and homework on arithmetic and geometric sequences: how to find certain terms, sums of sequences, and how to use sigma notation."
"Math 2 EOCT Preparation Piecewise Functions Absolute Value Piecewise Functions Median-Median Line Problems and Equations Graphing Piecewise Functions Complex Numbers and Imaginary Number Problems"
"My student had a homework assignment on locating a given point on a grid and word problems involving distances on a coordinate plane. Her teacher had worked the first few problems with the class and I reviewed the completed problems with her. She also worked a few problems with a group of her peers during math class. We also went over those problems and corrected one of the problems. I had her complete the rest of the problems without assistance. She seemed to be understanding the problems better as she worked more of them. Finally, we reviewed some multiplication facts."
"I met with Student A to review subtraction with regrouping. I used a 100 chart to help her practice calculating coin values. We used a website to practice geometry skills. I discussed calculating edges, vertices, and faces on a 3D shape. I then met with Student B to practice elapsed time. I modeled how to decipher counting forward or backwards to calculate time, and practiced chunking time to accurately count forwards and backwards. I also emphasized reviewing completed work to help with accuracy of answers. The state assessment test is next month, so I also modeled eliminating answer choices to help focus and identify the realism of calculating and zero in on realistic answers."
"The student did well tonight. We went over how to use a protractor and measuring angles. We talked about different types of angles and did a review of geometry. We also did some more advanced "solving equations," such as x+30=180, and she did well. This is above her grade level. Great job. She then read for 15 minutes from her favorite book and mine --The Dork Diaries-- and we did 3 reading comprehension prompts, which she got all correct."
