Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I worked through all of the multiple choice and part of the free response questions that will be on his end of semester final."
"During our session, the student and I continued to focus on probability. We reviewed the differences between computation and permutation. We went over examples that required permutation calculation and some that required combination calculation. She was very proficient at making these calculations. She had no problem analyzing factorials. We were able to make great progress in her homework with only a few questions remaining."
"We talked about sampling techniques, types of error, regressions, and some basics of distributions."
"We covered geometric and arithmetic series. The student had a positive and receptive attitude toward the material. I did include some methods and strategies to write the recursive and explicit equations to sequences. I told him to go over the chapter review and to focus finding the sum of finite arithmetic series."
"The student and I worked on the topic of surface integration. We looked at the similarities and differences between integrals on a parameterized curve and integrals on a parameterized surface. We discussed how to parameterize different surface, how to define a function on a surface and how to find the bounds of integration. To practice, we reviewed homework problems from the book."
"We went over applications of the integral to calculating volumes, and we also reviewed the partial fractions technique of integration. The student was again very attentive and eager to learn. He didn't struggle much with the material; he just needed directions on how to approach some problems. He finished the session feeling as though he had made some progress, and he is looking forward to his exam tomorrow. He will continue to work on his problem package, and we will meet during the week again to clarify any issues he has."
