"This was my final session with the student, and we finished reviewing exponents, logarithms, trig, function operations, and a little more review over statistics. He does well with the trig and function operations material, so we did not spend much time on that. We focused more on practice with exponents and logarithms, and made very good progress. We managed to spend a little time with the statistics material as well. I fully expect the student to do very well on his final today."
"The student and I continued to cover topics in geometry. This session, we covered triangle congruency, angle pairs, and equations of circles. It was a lot of material to go over, and we didn't do too much in the way of example problems. But we went through the concepts completely, and he felt confident he could do the example problems on his own."
"Today the student worked on preparation for her test. We worked on a few of the problems she had questions on from her previous work. After we worked on those, we worked on more practice problems in the review section. All in all, I think she is working hard and understanding things very well."
"We reviewed through the homework set, clarifying volume / percentage concepts. We then worked a little more on solving equations with variables on both sides; the student is continuing to improve with the intuition. He was quick to handle rational word problems, inequality number lines, and inequality word problems. We ended with a newer concept, reducing cubic roots. I will have a homework set sent out by Monday morning so that he has time to take a look at it before our next session."
"On Friday, the student and I mostly went over some material she had learned the previous year.
We also tried to go slightly further in each subject we covered, so that I could offer any formulas or strategies she may have missed.
We covered polynomial graphing and algebra, logarithms, exponents, and trigonometric functions, among others.
The session went well, but was not very focused on one subject. For our following sessions, I would like to work on no more than 2 subjects at a time, so she can get some practice in and really have ideas stay with her.

"This week the student and I worked on some of the questions he did not understand very well, albeit there were only a handful as he is a bright young student. He appears to grow in confidence which is excellent to see and his progress remains on the right track."
"At this session, the student and I continued to review and practice isolating various variable in an equation. We went back to the basics with first addition and subtraction, then division and multiplication, and finally a combination of all. At first, he was having troubles determining what steps to perform first and also what inverse property to use. Eventually, he did grasp the concept and did very well on several practice problems. We then started graphing linear equations and will continue this topic at our next session."
"During this session, the student reviewed fractions, decimals, and rounding by completing short activity packet. Upon completion of this packet, he took the Fractions & Decimals Assessment, which assesses the content we have covered thus far."
"The student had gotten a little rusty on graphing points while he was gone, so we spent today's session repracticing that skill, along with calculating distance, midpoint, and slope. Once again, he appears to be improving."
"Today the student and I went over graphing lines as well as order of operations. She practiced recognizing the slope and yintercept given an equation and using these to plot the line. She also practiced writing the equation of a line given two points on the line. I have seen improvements in these vital areas of prealgebra."
"We briefly discussed the first couple of chapters in his text to provide a review, create some momentum and establish a foundation. We then reviewed his last test which covered chapters 3 and 4. Overall, we had a very good session. My goal as we continue is to help him integrate concepts rather than just memorize and try to apply procedures. Next up: logarithms and exponents."
"The student and I went over least common denominators, ratios, finding the greatest common factors, basic geometry formulas and began to cover absolute value. She is very good as the conceptual understanding of the topics, we just need to work on the mechanics of calculating a problem."
