Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"For this session, we went over a few subjects, including the difference between estar and ser, interrogatives, direct-object pronouns and indirect object pronouns. I quizzed her orally and gave her some practice problems that I guided her through. She is getting a better understanding of the Spanish language."
"I used this session to establish the student's level of proficiency in Spanish and to establish focus areas for her improvement in Spanish IV. We worked on a presentation about Salvador Dali using PowerPoint. We revised her original draft which contained some conjugation and verb noun agreement errors. She had worked with her teacher on revising the content and we further improved on her draft. We then practiced presenting her briefing orally. She speaks well when she reads and has solid comprehension as well. She stated that she wants to improve on her verb conjugation skills as well as gain a better understanding of when to apply the appropriate tense of a verb. We practiced using the preterite and the imperfect and understanding the differences between the two and how to use them appropriately. I've asked her to bring her textbook to our next session so I can gauge what activities they are doing in class. We plan to meet again next Tuesday."
"We spent a lot of time trying to prep him for his oral presentation on a short story. He is reluctant to speak in Spanish, and when he can't think of the word he has difficulty figuring out a way to express himself. But his effort is really strong, and he is improving in terms of his ability to speak. We also reviewed por/para and verb conjugations. I left him with 501 Spanish verbs so he can review on his own."
