Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Worked on completing full logic game test sections in the time allotted, then reviewed questions to see how speed could be improved. Student did very well at completing the problems within the time given. Future sessions should focus on speed-improving techniques and continued test-like scenarios."
"The student is progressing well on games, and our new focus will be on grouping games. We began with literature section practice. I encouraged the student to begin focusing on this section with reading practice via practice sets. We focused on identifying the topic, main idea, scope, and purpose of the passage, and I gave him 3-5 minutes per piece. We also worked on dissecting the pieces, noting keywords, and underlining main ideas. The student is progressing well with the analytical problem section. I assigned him a diagnostic test for homework, and next week we will focus on problem questions."
"The student did another section of logical reasoning and a full section of logic games from a practice test before this lesson. I let her know that she is right on par with where most people would be at her level. We talked about how many logic games she thinks she will attempt during the test, and I gave her the breakdown of what would probably be best. She let me know that she is contemplating taking the test in June instead of February to giver herself more time to really master the skills before attempting it, and I said I thought that would be a great idea as long as she doesn't feel she needs to go straight into law school starting this upcoming September. We then went through the logic games that were toughest for her. We noted that she still has the most trouble with grouping games, so she should focus on these in the upcoming months. She did a nice job with the two linear games in the group. We then moved on to reviewing the logical reasoning section she worked on, talking through assumption, weaken and flaw questions. Next time we will start by going over in detail all of the types of flaw and they ways to spot the indication of those flaws in answer choices. She is going to do another logical reasoning section and logic games section before our next lesson."
