Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We finished electrochemistry by reviewing for the final. We covered balancing redox reactions, calculating Gibbs free energy and Ecell for voltaic cells."
"3rd session: did more electron configuration--went through her school's mock exam for entrance to chemistry."
"The student and I covered Redox chemistry in preparation for his exam tomorrow. We reviewed voltaic, electrolytic, and concentration cells, reduction potentials, free energy, and balancing Redox reactions."
"In our previous two sessions, the student and I worked on gas and solution chemistry, then spent two hours preparing for her upcoming final on four chapters of material. She has a strong conceptual understanding of each chapter she is responsible for, but occasionally makes procedural errors when working through quantitative problems. To remedy this, we spent an extended amount of time focused on math-based questions. For extra practice, I recommended redoing the previously assigned online quizzes for each section."
"The student and I had a good session. She is working hard to study for upcoming AP tests. She worked on very difficult electrochemistry problems. In general, the student has a solid grasp of the basic concepts and is able to apply them in a variety of settings. I encouraged her to keep practicing reducing problems to their basic concepts. Our next session is currently scheduled for Sunday."
"In preparation for the student's test on Friday, we reviewed recent chemistry material, regarding concentrations and intermolecular forces. He understood the general concepts."
