Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We reviewed for the student's final exam by going through problems from review packets for each unit. He had a few questions, and made some small mistakes, but was able to correct them when I asked him to check his work. He knows all of the concepts well and feels confident."
"The student and I started English essay prep, went over some math problems, prepared flash cards, and made a study schedule for him going forward. He has a very positive attitude."
"Today we went over review questions from the practice final test for fifth graders. We used techniques to get the student prepared for the upcoming test. He understands all the concepts needed to take the math test. I suggested he takes his time and circle all clue words he comes across when reading word problems. He will take his test next week and continue to study until his test on Wednesday."
"We worked on concepts from last time, and the student retained most of it well. We reviewed exponential growth modeling in more depth. Then we looked at solving systems of equations and learned about the graphical interpretation of this using intersecting planes."
"We worked through the student's exam review; topics included asymptotes, graphing of functions (without calculator), systems of equations, and other miscellaneous topics. She just needed some additional explanations for some topics, but was quite receptive and grasped the concepts quickly. I recommended she rework through the problems that we covered before tomorrow's session. Redoing the problems unaided is an excellent way to prepare for an exam, and is a method that has worked really well for me in the past."
"We played several virtual games to practice prime numbers, composite numbers, and the four basic operations. The student was extremely engaged. She is showing mastery with all concepts covered. The student was promoted to the seventh grade. She achieved an 80 average in math. The student is showing a lot of growth academically. It was a productive session."
