Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Good session with Student 1 and Student 2. Did some finals review of tougher problems with Student 1. Student 2 and I worked on a review packet for this week's test, which will likely continue in our next session. Nice work!"
"Today the student and I worked on her proof portfolio project. This involved her completing 10 proofs involving theorems on triangles and parallelograms. Based on the examples we did together, she will be able to finish number 10 on her own."
"The concepts I covered with this student were arcs, chords, intercepted angles, the Pythagorean theorem, using the trigonometric functions to calculate unknown lengths, and angles and using similarities of polygons to find unknown lengths and angles."
"Today we are studying and getting ready for my clients final exam. The student didn't really struggle as most chapters were a review. My client had a positive attitude toward the material. We worked on chapters seven through twelve. No extra practice was needed as the review was a packet and it's the last week of school. Definitely wins for the session as my client is maintaining a B average."
"I quizzed the student on all of his formulas and theorems, highlighting the ones he didn't remember. We reviewed Chapter 13 again since it had been a while. Then I had him do problems from a variety of sections just to make sure he was still remembering everything."
"The student and I continued to prepare for her final on Wednesday. The topics we covered were area, circumference, arc length, and sectors of circles. She did an excellent job on these concepts. Then we started reviewing surface area and talked about intercepted arcs and secants. I noticed that she was not doing the distributive property properly, and instructed her that it was better to just cross multiply. After some guided and independent practice, I saw much improvement. Finally we covered trig ratios. She did an excellent job! She was able to illustrate each ratio with ease. I wish her luck on her final. It was a pleasure to work with this past semester."
