Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We first discussed the DBQ she had written on Friday. However, the student thought she did pretty well and based on the content she told me she wrote, it does sound like she did well. She will get the results this week. I then gave her an 11 question practice AP exam on multiple choice questions based on documents and she scored 10/11. This was a strong indication she will do well on that portion of the upcoming AP exam in May. The rest of the session was spent reviewing an outline I had created for chapter 36. The outline was very comprehensive and she found the it to be of great help."
"The student had questions about direct and indirect variations and a quiz on these on Monday. We discussed his section on this from textbook and he says he is understanding better. He wanted to work ahead in section on rational expressions. He had no trouble with these. We used a simple process of trying the examples before looking at book's worked solutions and comparing what we did with what book did. Great effort, great focus."
"As the student's class is currently covering the US Revolution I gave him an overview of the era along with an explanation of the major revolutionary figures: Washington, Adams, Jefferson, Franklin, and Madison. I encourage him to study them, as they will almost certainly be important figures in any tests. Hoping to get see some of his homework in the next couple of sessions, particularly any essays he turned in. While waiting I intend to work with him on the multiple-choice element of the AP test."
