"We covered calculating circumference and area of circles. We also covered identifying kinds of triangles and calculating missing angles from them. In addition, I reviewed with her a home work packet on geometry."
"We covered Quadrilaterals including the Rectangle, Rhombus, Parallelogram, and Square. We worked on the packet provided by the student's professor on quadrilaterals. We did not complete the packet, but the student said she would meet with the professor on Monday to discuss the unclear wording of problems and what was expected. The student grasped the concepts well, need only slight clarification every so often. We also reviewed the other packets that had been previously assigned in preparation for her exam on Wednesday."
"Today the student and I finished the c problem from our previous session. I gave him hints, but made him figure out the final answer on his own. We then worked ahead to the next section in his textbook, central angles and arcs. We practiced a few application problems and then set him up to try the c problem for that section on his own. I left him with a hint."
"The student was able to get a copy of last year's final review from his teacher, and we started reviewing that. I also went through his current assignment with him, which involved Hamiltonian circuits, and shortest circuit paths. He seems to do really well with the concepts and overall, I feel like he has a really good handle on the material."
"Wednesday was the student's 21st tutoring session. It went very well. He practiced about 20 questions about finding the surface area of codes and spheres. Once again, he was able to discover how surface is changed as dimension are changed. He successfully handled even the most challenging of composite figures. He was able to write and solve algebra equations to find the radius or slant height given the surface area. He also worked on his history research paper focusing on the Irish in Augusta and Franklin counties during the Civil War. Excellent work."
"The student worked on a review of trigonometry, covering the six identities, inverse trigonometric functions, and how to use the reference angle and the quadrant that an angle is found in to find the trig value of the function."
