Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today we worked on the conjugation of deponent verbs, in preparation for the student's quiz. We started by fully conjugating a first-conjugation verb, which involved a lot of review, especially with how the perfect system worked. Then we went through the process again with a verb of the third conjugation. We slightly modified the third-conjugation pattern to review the third -io and fourth conjugations, before reviewing the second conjugation. Assuming he reviews this material more, he should be prepared for that section of the quiz."
"The student and I did some memory exercises for many of the Latin grammar rules he has learned so far and finished up doing some translation practice."
"The student and I went over Catullus' meters. He was a great sport. I gave him plenty of internet resources for him to use and check his work in preparation for tomorrow's quiz."
"We worked strictly on verb tenses, identifying those tenses and breaking down the verbs by person and number."
"We focused on translating a passage and vocabulary for the upcoming Latin quiz. She should continue reviewing vocabulary and subjunctive forms."
"We reviewed the passage from the Latin course that the student is working on in class right now. He is really good at grammar. I would say that his biggest problem is vocabulary, and that's not even a big problem; it is very rare he ever needs vocabulary help. Keep up with the good work!"
