Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student has an oral quiz tomorrow. We reviewed the vocabulary (focusing on the workplace and the arts) and tenses on which he'll be tested (preterit, imperfect, present subjunctive, past subjunctive, and conditional). We created a script for 10 of the 20 possible questions that he might be asked given. He'll be asked 5 and will have 30-45 seconds to answer each. The quiz is to test him on how well he matches the tenses in a question with the tenses in the answer, and on how well he has memorized the vocabulary for the last two textbook lessons that his class has reviewed."
"The student and I covered vocabulary for the test and included a study strategy of thinking maps to organize information. He is very disciplined and a quick learner. His attitude is always positive. I left him with extra practice to continue studying to feel better prepared. I e-mailed him further practice. Pleasant session as always!"
"During this session the student and I proceeded to the next chapter, which covers the Imperfect Subjunctive. We reviewed the various uses of this tense and how to conjugate verbs. After that, I helped her with her online and workbook homework. She had an easier time with the vocabulary in this chapter. The vocabulary continued to cover government terms. Also, she mentioned that she received a 'B' in her latest oral presentation."
