Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We reviewed general chemistry topics for the student's upcoming exam. We primarily covered intermolecular forces and their relationship to vapor pressure, and phase changes. We also covered a bit of genetics centered on the steps of mitosis. I emailed her some interactive tutorials to help visualize some of the chemistry concepts and mitosis and the cell cycle."
"The student and I finished Module 3, Session 1. This covered purine and pyrimidine syntheses as well as salvage processes. We were able to also start on Session 2, which is on DNA replication."
"Reviewed Units 1 and 2. Started with a discussion of measurements and how to determine precision and accuracy. The precision of a measurement is determined by the measuring device. Wrote down all units that were on the device. Once the student knew the significant digits, they were able to add, subtract, or multiply them using the rules for sig figs. Unit1-2: Properties of matter. Student did a great job remembering the types of matter. Elements, compounds, mixtures, etc. Remember that there is Kinetic and Potential Energy, and temperature is measured as kinetic energy."
