"Student had no work for the unit so we took the chance to review for the AP test. I quizzed him on several concepts and even had him verbally work through some AP writing prompts, unbeknownst to him. He did very well, but we still need to work on him retaining smaller events so he can use them in essays. He does very well with big concepts and legislative acts, but we need to work on court cases and historical figures."
"WWII notes: I gave her notes on WWII's effect upon American society and the economy. I avoided the military aspects, since those are more well-known. The test also leans heavily toward society and economics, so the more covered the better. We'll get into the Cold War next week."
"The student and I covered the significance of key terms from Kennedy through Reagan, including the Watergate Scandal, Great Society, Vietnam War, etc. He is diligent in his studies and had most of the terms filled out - I helped explain ones he was unfamiliar with and analyze the significance of people and events. I believe he will do well as long as he focuses on his studies. He does need to practice analyzing information and connecting all the facts he's learned, but I'm confident he will make progress there."
