"We did basic conversation. We are reading a children's book in Hiragana and Katakana. We did days (Mon-Sun), greetings, and family relatives. I asked her to order a book that is very useful and she did. She has been practicing my suggestion which is Hiragana and Katakana drag and drop (online) and told me her finishing time is getting faster. I encouraged her to do more. We went over many wards today. She is getting so much better!"
"We covered the importance of Japanese hiragana, katakana, and kanji. The student is a very good student. He asked very good questions and just needs guidance for learning the basics of the written language. He seems to be able to absorb vocabulary and phrases very well. He seems to learn best when he understands the history and reason behind the writing system. We also went through the phrases related to self-introductions, and practiced them together. We will be meeting again tomorrow. He expressed interest in continuing to study with my help."
"Today, we covered a lot about particles! It was a fun lesson talking about the use of each particle and clarifying how each one tells you what makes up a sentence. We discussed some new sentence structures and clarified some classwork and class discussions as well. I think the student is really excelling in her knowledge and is definitely getting more comfortable with Japanese."
"First, the student and I reviewed a material we studied on last week. For the rest of an hour, we studied Kanji by using the same material. We also covered about Japanese traditions and holidays along with those Kanji letters. I asked him to practice by writing Kanji we covered today."
"We reviewed what was gone over in previous classes, where the student is in Japanese and the Genki II book right now, and what he has been struggling with. We reviewed his homework for this week which focused on the giving and receiving words as well as responding with counters in positive and negative. We also went over translating English sentences into Japanese."
"Today the student and I reviewed his homework assignment on line integrals. He was able to do all of the problems but expressed a lot of hesitation. I suggested a couple of sections he could go back and review to help comprehend this section better."
