Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"This was my first session with the student and it went very well. She is a very bright student and picked up on all of the material super quickly. We started by talking about where she is in school and her experience with LSAT prep so far. We started by talking about timing of applications to make sure that she gets everything in before her February LSAT. I then went through an in-depth description of the LSAT itself, since she had never seen one before. I showed her examples of each section type and gave her a brief overview of what to expect from each. We then focused in on logic games, since most people have the most trouble with that section. We went through one basic linear game together, just so the student would have some context for all of the diagramming rules. She did a great job with the game, so we moved on to some rule diagramming drills. We did a bunch of drills together, setting up scenarios, diagramming rules and making inferences. For homework I gave the student a few more drills and a couple games to work on her own."
"We discussed logical reasoning problems. We discussed finding the main conclusion and strengthening the argument. We also talked about tips for attacking the problems, specifically underlining key words and phrases to save time. We will have another session early next week. In the mean time, she will complete practice problems of LR and RC daily. She will also try to take a full LSAT exam."
"The student completed two arguments sections and a games section. She got 17 correct on each arguments section, which is a significant improvement over her previous tests. We worked through incorrect answers from one of the arguments sections and then worked through the most difficult logic game."
