"We went over three issues the student was having with her webpage-- drop-down menus not working, social media icons not showing, and background image not appearing. She was glad we were able to resolve the first two issues."
"In this session, we first discussed how the student uses Excel and Illustrator in her work and how she wants to become more efficient in each program. She then showed me examples of her work and common problems that she has while using the programs. With Illustrator, she mostly struggles with the concepts of clipping masks, cropping, and efficient tool shortcuts. However, she has a great grasp of some of the more advanced tools, such as the pen tool. She was very good at explaining where she needed help and which tools she struggled with. I took notes during the session about her questions and what we worked on. We covered a lot of ground in our first session, and I was able to get a good sense of her skill set. While I often use Illustrator in my work, her needs for the program were a bit different than my own."
"We hammered out the conclusion and recommendations to the student's excellent paper. He is a bright young man and he expressed appreciation and relief with the different paper we were able to draw out of him and out of the subject."
"The student and I went over some of the basics of Adobe Illustrator. We also created an art project by making a dollar bill of her choosing. We worked together on two different versions, but we were able to get the right effects and ultimately, what makes me happy was that she was happy and proud of what she created! It was a pretty skilled piece of artwork looking like a dollar and incorporating higher-level, digital effects of warping, shaping, and inserting text. I'm very impressed with her abilities to learn and toggle with the many features within Illustrator. Overall, we had a fantastic tutoring session."
"Today the student and I reviewed some of the topics regarding graphs, and then talked about working with multiple worksheets inside one workbook. I taught her how to change some things in all of the worksheets by making changes to only one. In our next session I will show her how to create a graph from data located in separate worksheets."
