Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"This evening, the student and I worked on another of the practice exams for the WYSE competition. I reviewed and taught her about arrays, including 2-dimensional arrays. It took much less time to work through problems. She is starting to absorb the deeper stuff, which is good."
"Today, the student and I worked on her word bank assignment. It consisted on using vectors, reading and writing to files, and alphabetizing the words. We got most of the assignment done, except the alphabetizing part. She made sure that the words read were actual words (as opposed to characters). Now it's just a matter of organizing them. On the last session (which only consisted of 30 minutes which were logged additional to this hour and a half session), we went over how to go from a regular fraction and convert it into an Egyptian fraction. With that information, the student was able to do the code all by herself. She is getting better and better."
"Today we worked on sorting algorithms (selection sort, bubble sort, insertion sort), STL vs. STD, linked lists, and general study for the exam."
