"I helped the student to prepare for her quiz by completing her study guide and using the extra time to do the problems in the book. We covered logs and their properties while solving problems using these properties. She had a very good grasp on the material and I gave her some tips to make it easier to solve the problems. I told her that it is key that she memorize the rules and as long as she does this she will do fine on the quiz. No concerns for this session"
"We reviewed the material in Chapter 5, sections 5.1 to 5.3 concerning the unit circle, trig functions, and trig graphs for sine and cosine functions. We used her textbook and classroom notes as references. The student is very sharp and quickly grasped the concepts she needed assistance with, though she was familiar with all the material as it was also covered in her high school coursework. She enjoys math and that showed in her enthusiasm for the material."
"The student and I covered Polynomials and solving long division problems during our session. It appeared that he grasped both concepts and understood the material. He didn't have specific long division homework problems, so we found sample problems online and solved a numerous amount of those."
"We continued solving inequalities including absolute value inequalities. The student and I reviewed for his upcoming test."
"The student and I started with some problems on function composition. We then worked a little on identifying functions and their inverses. He was quick with the problems and most of his trouble was identifying unfamiliar notation and answering the free response problems. We will work on taking useful notes and working problems through next time."
"This was a good session. We looked at functions. We learned to determine whether a function is even or odd algebraically as well as graphically. We also determined how to write formulas for piecewise functions given varying functions over separated domains. We also dealt with piecewise inequalities. We discussed how to find minimums and maximums as well as simply reviewing T-charts to determine points for graphing various functions."
