Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We reviewed series, sequences, and limits. We also reviewed multiple questions and she was able to go through them after some quick guidelines. I then gave the student a quick rundown of limits and the rules that apply to them. We went over a couple of problems, and she seems to get the hang of it. We continued practicing until she felt confident in the material."
"Graphing inverse trig functions. 1. Rewrite the function so that it is easy to understand. 2. Write a table of points. 3. Plot points. Remember to apply vertical and horizontal stretches before applying shifts! Be careful of the domains and ranges of inverse trig functions!"
"Today, the student and I had a wonderful first session. We spent most of the time reviewing quadratic equations and manipulating them to find the vertex, intercepts, domain, range, and other functional aspects. We reviewed the concept of completing the square and he seemed to be much more comfortable with it after the review."
"We went over the review material for the student's upcoming midterm. We covered triangles and intrinsic functions. For a few weeks now, he's been very good with the material. He has a good grasp for every topic. I feel confident he will do well on his upcoming exam. He's done a lot of work and practice."
"The student worked on a review test that she had received and completed. We worked on understanding the problems given in the test and practicing various topics such as finding the focus and directrix of a parabola, factoring polynomials, solving systems of linear equations, and solving equations involving radicals."
"Today, we worked through review problems in the student's Chemistry review packet. She knew how to do most of them. For the majority of the problems, she was mostly independent. She appears to be in great shape for her upcoming chemistry mid-term. She also expressed good feelings about her latest Math test."
