Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"In this session we finished the lab report we had started last time. Writing the introduction for the lab report took the longest time which was good because I think the student really got it right in the end and writing introduction/background paragraphs for lab reports is one of the more tricky but important skills to learn during high school. By the end, he had a good handle on writing these reports which was encouraging."
"Entirety of the session focused on preparing for an upcoming physics exam. Covered in detail the full EM spectrum and calculating wavelength and frequencies. Finished with a rapid review of all of the student's notes on waves."
"The student and I met to go over final details for the test. I showed the student how the necessary information could be gained from basic principles and the formulas he already knew. I emphasized how the test will require critical thought and not just recitation of formulas. He has a firm grasp on probability measurements in quantum mechanics and is handling wave phenomena well. I also reminded him of general test-taking strategies: write down what you know, remind yourself of the information that you're given, and make sure you answer each part of the question."
