Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Met with the student, reviewed the Pythagorean theorem, the definitions of a radius, diameter, hypotenuse, line, chord, and secant. We also reviewed the theorems involved in calculating the lengths of lines, chords, and secants using the theorems."
"The pupil has a solid understanding of the theorems and properties covered in this part of the unit. My goal for the next session is to slow down his process and eliminate his propensity to guess first at the answer before trying to figure it out. We also will focus on basic algebra and arithmetic. I plan to bring algebra exercises for the next session."
"Her last quiz grade was a 92. Tonight, we worked on finding angles based on their relationships and doing proofs. She has improved significantly in her speed of doing the algebraic portions of the problems."
"The student had an assignment on parallelograms that I helped him with. He got a few questions incorrect but overall seemed to understand the material pretty well. I think he has definitely improved in geometry quite a bit. It's refreshing to see how far he has come."
"We covered triangle angle measures, triangle perimeters, and congruent triangles. The student had a good attitude. We mostly just worked through the assignment she had, and I had her work it out alone sometimes to test her proficiency. I think she is doing very well with the material."
"Today, we went over problems related to polygons, sum of internal angles of polygons, and sums of external angles. Further, we solved problems related to isosceles triangles, and we investigated problems related to finding conditions under which the quadrilaterals will be of a special type, such as rhombus, isosceles trapezoid, kite, square, rectangle, and parallelogram. The student is very well prepared and has an incredible shot at majorly improving his grade tomorrow when he is presenting a poster and doing the geometry test."
