"...Test prep is necessary in today's education system, and I believe it's important to help students cope and excel through these pressure situations. I always emphasize with students that their goal is not a perfect score, but rather the ability to proceed efficiently through questions without second guessing. An above-average score is guaranteed to follow appropriate preparation for any standardized test..."

"...I successfully completed all required courses for admission into medical school during the course of my undergraduate education, and I have extensive Math, Science, and Verbal Reasoning tutoring experience working with high school students in the New Haven Public School system. While working in local public high schools, I have successfully tutored students both for their own personal gain and for increased performance on college entrance examinations--such as the SAT and ACT. My personal strengths include the ability to work productively in a fast-paced work environment, along with numerous experiences in tutoring, lesson/report preparation, and data analysis. Past positions in biomedical research and administration have also necessitated excellent verbal and oral communication skills, specifically within team settings..."

"Hello! I have two years of experience tutoring undergraduate students in Science, mostly Biology and Chemistry. I love bringing a student out of their shell and having a conversation about the material. I think the best way for anyone to learn is to explain the new information in different ways that relate back to their own life and having a conversation about the material is the easiest way to do that..."

"I am currently a graduate student at USC. I finished my Bachelor's in Biochemistry from UC San Diego and my Master of Public Health from University of Texas, Houston. I work mostly with graduate students as a teaching assistant in biostatistics and epidemiology, but have taught and tutored college level and high school level biology and mathematics. I believe that both tutoring and mentoring are parts of the process of learning. In my free time, I try to travel as much as much as possible, and my goal is to travel to a new country every year. ."

"...As an older brother, former babysitter, and camp counselor, I have always enjoyed working with children of all ages. It was my own youthful fascination with the natural world which led me to study science - the kid in me is what helps me connect with children. I place an emphasis on giving each child the tools they need to figure things out for themselves, especially for math and hard sciences such as chemistry. When students learn the correct way to approach problems, they learn not only their subject, but they learn "how to learn"..."

"... Before this I attended the University of Texas at Austin where I received my Bachelor's degrees in Geography and Humanities. Having been exposed to an eclectic background of liberal arts and hard science I am comfortable tutoring across a broad range of subjects and encourage students to see the inherent connections between their work and real-world applications. Despite my technical background, I am a person who would much rather contemplate the words in a good book rather than the letters of a differential equation. However, my interest in studying the natural world has caused me to suffer through more math classes than I care to count. As a result, I am well-equipped to help 'math-shy' students understand, appreciate, and flourish in a subject that they may have previously disliked. I believe in forging a relationship between the student and the subject matter with the idea being able to answer the question "when will I ever need to know this?" is the first step to understanding. Currently, I live in Houston with my bride, Nathalie, and our great big black lab, affectionately know as "The Bear"..."
