Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We went over several of the problems from her homework regarding conical sections. The majority of her homework was word problems and I observed them to be more challenging than the nature of her previous homework. She is continuing to grasp the concepts and has an exam this Friday. She will get the next lesson plan syllabus on Monday and we will determine when to meet next based on that."
"Continued with the SAT Math section, focusing on advanced math concepts and common traps/mistakes used by the test to evaluate operational understanding and care in calculation. Will begin the next session by looking at the critical reading portion in preparation for post-test."
"The student did timed portions of the test over the weekend and we went over the answers today. He did surprisingly well on the reading portion. I want to get him more comfortable with the grammar and what to look for."
"Today The student and I read a Dr.Seuss book together for the first 25 minutes of our sessions. Afterwards, we spent time working on two worksheets, one that had to do with rhyming words, and another of fun tongue twisters, that helped practice the student's reading fluency. In the last few minutes of our meeting the student spent time decorating his new reading binder, and making a note of what he learned today."
"The student and I met for the first time to start preparing for the ISEE. I had her work through a few math questions to see how she was performing and asked her to complete a diagnostic test before our next session."
"This session was devoted to a 2-D array implementation of Sudoku. The student required a bit of help to make it through the content, though with instruction, he was able to grasp the content on the whole. We still have a review session for the course."
