"We have covered Greetings in Chinese and how do Chinese people greet each other in real-life conversations. The student knows the vocabularies and I have input a few more new vocabularies. I tested right her after we practiced and she picked them up as well. The student is very engaged when we simulate the conversation without visual aids. She shows interest in learning new things as well."
"Started Ch. 6 in the textbook. This chapter included more difficult vocabulary, so we focused more in depth on all the extra phrases. We also went over grammar and sentence structures."
"I first helped Student 1 with his English and social studies homework. I then quizzed Student 2 on the prepositions. We then reviewed the grammatical structures we've covered lately, and I had him say more complex sentences in Mandarin."
"The student did a good job tonight! I helped her finished two homework sheets. I made sure she understood and knew what she was doing and can make choices on her own. At the end as a reward, I played a Chinese song called "Little Sheep Wants to Go Home" for her and she enjoyed it."
"The student and I worked through her homework and new vocabulary from class. I showed and introduced her to a Chinese newspaper. I believe it helped her build a little more confidence especially in character recognition and reading comprehension."
"Today, we practiced how to order food in Chinese, such as answering how many people will be dining, asking for water, ordering food, and asking for a check. Then, we watched some videos of Chinese songs for kids, and the student was very interested."
