Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We covered the writing prompt, grammar and vocabulary. The student has markedly improved in her ability to draft clear and succinct theses and examples. The few mistakes that the student makes on the multiple choice questions are simply due to lack of answer checking. For next Tuesday, the student will complete essay prompts."
"We looked at the vocab words the kids had compiled for me, then continued with Math. We concentrated today on Geometry, since one student had expressed worry over that subject. Each student has specific math and vocab homework assignments to complete for next time."
"Today we started with a general overview of a few of the types of questions which the student had missed on the general SAT. We worked with properties of numbers and operations, then did a few practice problems with geometry and function manipulations. We then shifted focus to the concepts that might be covered on the SAT Subject test. I gave a brief overview of the unit circle, the conversion of radians to degrees, and the x and y coordinates (sine and cosine values) of points on the unit circle. After that we spent some time working with vectors, describing their properties and how to solve questions which deal with vectors. I started making a practice test for the student to work on before our next online session"
