Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We covered graphing and the different equations that are available to solve for slope, y-intercept and the slope-point equation. We started to cover graphs of absolute values at the end of the session. The student also had the book that I recommended and I showed her where in the book she could find further examples and information regarding these problems."
"We did a review sheet of problems to prepare the student for his next quiz. Then we reviewed old concepts about lines - their graphs, slopes and intercepts. He did very well. He is struggling with Spanish. We talked about techniques to learn a language taught in middle school."
"The student and I went over her quiz. She made an 8 out of 10. She worked out what she had done wrong, and redid the problems. We then started on 2 worksheets. They covered factorization and simplification of polynomials and perfect squares. She did well."
"Today, we went over more of the system of equation word problems. I focused on understanding the problem and how to solve it. The student understood the problems and did them fairly quickly. She just needs to be cautious and avoid minor errors. We also went over her extra credit, and I showed her how to do the problems. She eventually finished the rest in the end."
"Today, we worked on sequences and geometric sequences. We reviewed the common ratio, r, that determines the relationship of the geometric sequences. We found some shortcut ways to solve for r and did some problems using her uploaded worksheet."
"The student got a 100% on her module seven quiz! Today, we worked on lesson 8.2, fitting lines to data. We also worked on lesson 8.3, which covered linear regression. She completed the guided practice and independent practice for each of these sections."
