"We worked today on science and math. Most of the time was spent on science. We are working on speed! I demonstrated the two-hand method, where you keep two hands on the page at all times to ease the transition on the brain from all the looking back-and-forth. Math went very well; she was able to do the problems I assigned her in good time."
"This is a two-part session (today and tomorrow morning). We went over some English drills today, because the student hadn't practiced a ton of those yet. Tomorrow, we will do a few timed reading sections to see how she holds up. Part 2 - we looked at more English questions. She will be practicing intensely for next week."
"We covered general tips about the ACT for a few minutes. Our main focus, however, was the English section. To start, we focused on comma and general punctuation rules. We then went over common errors, such as the difference between affect and effect or when to use well versus good. We took two short practice samples and went over the answers, all the while explaining our choices behind each answer. He was very responsive to the material. I left him with a practice ACT test to take before our next meeting."
