Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We covered Chapter 15 about poverty and inequality. This chapter discussed human capital/education, efficiency wages, wage discrimination and its determinants, and different government poverty policies. The student's test-taking skills have improved a lot. He thinks about the text that we have covered and is more careful about reading what the question asks for, rather than going with the gut answer. Next weekend we will wrap up the 3 chapters."
"During this session we covered the student's homework assignment, which covered a number of topics. She needed some assistance with some of the concepts and definitions. By talking through the problems, I believe she was better able to understand the material. We will continue our next session(s) with her class assignments, such as papers and other homework problem sets."
"First we went over a couple of questions the student missed on her second midterm, which she got a better grade on than her first one. Then we reviewed her problem set for the new chapter. The problems had to do with market equilibrium and the effects of taxes and price ceilings on the equilibrium. We calculated consumer and producer surplus and deadweight loss for each situation. Topics also included the relationship between elasticities on the burden of the tax."
