Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today we began by reviewing some of the assignments that he has completed. He explained some of the assignments that he had missed. We also worked on a few of his homework assignments. As we worked through several of the review problems for the last test I began to identify potential areas of improvement. Next, we will focus on preparing him for his upcoming final exam."
"We covered topics related to the CPA Exam such as inventory (LIFO), Pensions, Bonds and leases. The student was struggling with actual problem application of theory and we will review this in future sessions."
"Today was my last session with this student before the third exam. We didn't cover the additional problems for chapter 11 in detail because he said that he didn't have significant issues with the problems. Therefore, we spent the remainder of the day focusing on the chapter covering the statement of cash flows. He did very well on this chapter - there are a lot of equations that his professor uses for the class but today the student really got a handle on why these equations work (A/R, A/P, Dividends, etc.). If there is ever a time in the exam where he doesn't remember the equation - he can definitely figure it out conceptually. For cash flows from operations, he needs to be sure to include SG&A less depreciation expense because that can be easy to overlook. He is going to work on the problems for chapter 14 today. I sounded like a broken record, but I strongly emphasized the importance of working through as many problems as possible (WITHOUT looking at notes) to correctly identify where the main issues were that he needed to work on and improve speed and accuracy."
