"The student had some questions regarding the logical reasoning section this time, so we focused on that. We primarily focused on assumption questions, since they are the backbone for strengthen, weaken and many flaw questions as well. We talked through the two different types of assumption questions and how to answer both before doing several practice questions for each type. We also talked through how to handle conditional conclusions and causal conclusions. The student had questions about when to diagram logical reasoning questions so we discussed that as well. He has gotten a copy of a Logic Games review book, so he is working through that on his own right now. I told him to continue and let me know if he has any questions. We talked about some general reading comp issues as well. Before our next lesson he is going to go through as many timed sections of each type as he can and bring specific questions for us to address together."
"We spent the first half of the session working on general tips for the Logic Games section as well as how to diagram information in a clear and concise way. We then moved on to working on Linear logic games. At the end of the session I asked her to practice some drills in order to remember how to diagram information as well as asking her to complete two logic games for review next session."
"We reviewed the hybrid logic games homework I left the student with last week. He had an easy time with the two-layer sequencing game. We had to spend more time on the distribution/sequencing hybrid game and sequencing/selection, focusing mostly on drawing usable sketches and understanding formal logic triggers/results. Next we discussed reading comprehension, beginning by covering general techniques and finishing with a specific discussion of comparative passages. He overall seems strong in reading comprehension; narrowing down answer choices is very doable for him."
