Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I finished reviewing the data sufficiency question type. He said that he is not as concerned with the essay or integrated reasoning questions at this time, so we moved on to reading comprehension. I laid out the basic system for him and we did a passage and set of questions from the practice book. We will finish our review of reading comprehension next time and will start to review random questions together."
"I reviewed numerous challenging problems found within the guide to the GMAT. The student has shown significant improvement in his mathematical ability, and I encouraged him to take a practice exam this week. He is interested in learning the challenging material. I encouraged him to review many of the questions that we covered in today's session. I also explained three strategic guessing methods. Overall, he has made significant progress."
"The first 30 minutes of the session was used to go through a summary GMAT fact sheet that I had put together. We talked through the exam type and structure of the sections and their contents. I have asked the student to go through this sheet in more detail and identify topics where we will need to focus our sessions. He also discussed his score goals and timing expectation for the exam in mid to late March. The rest of the session was used to go through some Problem Solving practice questions to gauge his memory on some of the quantitative topics. We covered the 12 prepared questions and then pulled 2 additional questions from my resources. Finally, we discussed follow-ups prior to meeting next. The student should take a practice exam and target at least 10 practice problems per day. We will concentrate on the quantitative section for several sections prior to moving to the verbal topics. We will review his challenge areas based on the practice test and start working through specific topic practice problems based on those areas."
