"Her father emailed me copies of her homework sheets. She was having trouble solving certain trigonometric functions when evaluated from 0 to 2 pi. We went over ways in which to solve these. Then she had a worksheet on proving trigonometric identities, and so we went through the method and the steps that I take in which to solve these problems. Oftentimes it is guess-and-check , but you can make educated guesses and that technique is what I helped her work on for the second half of the hour. She has a good understanding of the basics, but is not fully confident of her abilities as of yet and more practice will surely help her."
"We did several review problems on work and the conservation of energy in preparation for the student's upcoming physics test. She's doing well on the current topics and only needed a little prompting on how to tie these concepts to previous concepts such as Newton's laws. We went through a roller coaster problem with multiple initial conditions such as the car starting from rest at the top of a hill and starting with some initial velocity at the top of a hill. Lastly, we did a few more review problem with logarithms, including adding and subtracting logarithms with the same base, solving logarithms, and using the change of base formula."
"The student had 4 difficult homework problems relating to simple harmonic motion, how acceleration changes force equilibria, and banked curves. We talked through the different relevant concepts while I explained different parts of the solution process."
"This session we reviewed for the student's test on nuclear physics and waves. We made a study sheet of formulas and major concepts. We also did practice problems on energy conservation and electron excitation ."

"Today we reviewed many topics, while trying to guess what is on the final. The student is starting to understand semiconductor band gaps, and has been learning the details on electron shell structure, which is what it looks like the test will cover most. His class has covered many different topics, so we reviewed several quantum phenomena that had been covered very quickly."
