Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I finished the geometry section, including a review of triangles, circles, three dimensional figures, and coordinate geometry. We also did a few practice problems to show how these concepts test on multiple formulas, rather than one direct, easy solution. The student is going to practice geometry questions over the weekend and take another practice exam. He is also going to return to critical reasoning and sentence correction questions."
"I covered some of the most challenging math questions in the GMAT guide. These quantitative questions greatly challenge the test taker because reaching the correct answer requires the test taker to reorganize the given data, make quick mathematical deductions, and recognize the nuances of topics, such as ratios, fractions, exponents, linear equations, quadratic equations, geometry, and number properties. The student's attitude is improving, and he is more confident about his future success. I also reviewed with him test taking strategies such as backsolving and picking numbers. I encouraged him to take a GMAT practice test. In addition, he improved his quantitative score from the 14th percentile to the 33rd percentile. This is a significant improvement over two tutoring sessions. Overall, he is willing to work harder to reach the 50th percentile and beyond."
"The student and I went over math formulas commonly tested in the GMAT, including averages and interest formulas, and reviewed corresponding math problems."
