Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student did great today. We reviewed the last section of Chapter 2 and began Chapter 3. We covered vocabulary that relates to functions and relations and she learned function notation for the first time. She did really well today."
"The student and I spent the first few minutes reviewing some of the articles in Spanish from the last time. From there, we moved on to practicing stating possession ("I have") with a direct object to practice vocabulary (including adjectives) and articles. We moved on to reviewing expressions using "I am" in English that use "I have" in Spanish ("I have cold," "I have hunger," etc.). I wanted to make sure we were all clear on this before we moved on to practicing the two verb forms of "to be" in the first person singular. We spent the rest of the lesson distinguishing between the two verbs. I had him practice translating sentences into Spanish using both verbs and distinguishing between the usage of the two verbs."
"The student and I spent this session reviewing the physics work that she did over her spring break. While she did pretty well on the practice questions for a first run, her incorrect answers pointed out some areas on which to work on her understanding of the material (most notably, PE/KE interchange and electricity/magnetism basics). We also spent some time reviewing questions that she had within the physics study material. I look forward to seeing how she does on the physical sciences section because it will be a very useful indicator for how we're doing, and where we need to double down. "
"Reviewed the student's PSAT from October. I believe with his improved accuracy he should be able to break a 700 in the math section. I will focus next Saturday's session on the reading section."
"We are going over homework questions from the textbook. I have noticed improved performance. We also went over some review questions in his assignment."
