Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student finished up a unit in class yesterday and has a test over it tomorrow. We began by working through his homework on the last lesson of the unit, geometric probability. The student easily found probabilities for one-dimensional figures, but finding probabilities involving two-dimensional area took some practice before he got the hang of it. Then, we worked through his unit review. I gave the student a few extra problems to practice on his own tonight."
"We focused on math adding and writing improper fractions....is improving slowly. Once he gets the understanding of the material his confidence is boosted. I am very pleased with his progress."
"The student and I went over the format of the test, what he finds easiest, what he finds hardest, and then we talked about basic helpful hints for each section. We then discussed the English and Math sections he took in the book prior to our meeting."
"This was our first session discussing the essay. The student writes quite well, but he needs to write more and argue better. We discussed how to formulate clear arguments for his theses and how to bring up topics which he knows a lot about. We also worked on math. The student is much better and faster at the easier problems, but still struggles and gives up too easily on harder ones."
"During this session we focused mainly on physics. We went over circuits. We also touched on math. Overall this session went well."
"We covered money multipliers, tax multipliers, GDP, the Phillips curve, and AD and AS. I helped the student define terms and write equations to show how to use the multipliers correctly. He was able to understand the concepts by the end."
