Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We covered material respective to the student's pre-lab assignment due on Tuesday. We walked through the assignment and discussed what was being asked and the best method of approach. The student has a great attitude and a strong desire to learn and succeed in this class. The win is that we actually have a plan of attack for the project!"
"In geometry we talked about AAS, ASA, and HL theorems of triangles congruence. In biology we talked about cellular respiration, specifically glycolysis and the Krebs cycle. He took much better notes on this section, which I think helped him a lot. He definitely needs to focus less on the specific steps here, and more on the net product from each step, which is what's particularly important about the process."
"This last session before the student's exam was very satisfying. Today, the student showed her ability to quickly learn and make important questions. She definitely is a very smart girl."
"We discussed the student's lab. This time, we reviewed which statistical tests she needed to perform and how to appropriately evaluate the results in her conclusion and discussion sections. It is really coming together!"
"We continued to review centripetal motion for the student's test. I gave her several tips, including the following: look at each problem and remind yourself of all the "tools" that you have available in the form of the equations that we have gone over. Go step by step, and draw a picture of what is happening. Look at where the center of the circles are and think what forces are pointing or must be pointing in that direction."
"We covered the lumped system approximation and combined thermal resistances; we went over the theory and fundamentals, and then we solved problems related to this topic. The student has a quiz coming up next week, so we did a brief review of all the formulas and concepts covered so far. He seems to have a very good handle on these topics, and he is able to solve the problems with ease."
