"The student and I spent most of the session working on direct and indirect object pronouns. This is a new grammatical concept for Lauren, so I spent a good part of the session on what role direct objects and indirect pronouns play in a sentence, and then, how to use them correctly in a Spanish sentence. This time, she brought notes she had taken in class, which was very helpful. We also spent part of the session reviewing new vocabulary words and reviewing past/present conjugations. Overall, great session- the student seemed very energized."
"We went over her vocab and informal, affirmative commands with direct object pronouns. She didn't know vocab that well, but was starting to get it more by the end. She is pretty good at conjugating the command verbs, but could use more practice with the pronouns."
"Orthographic irregular verbs ending in -car, -zar, and -gar, in the preterite tense. The student and I worked through a homework handout on Sunday, which functioned as practice for conjugating these verbs and also a review for other preterite conjugations. Once that was clear he started to cruise. The student seems to be warming up to me a little but is still standoffish toward Spanish in general and tends to rush as much as possible through the material. We did not finish two pages in the handout, but completed enough problems together so that he understood the concept."
