Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We spent this session reviewing the process of simplifying radicals. The student was able to factor most of the numbers easily, but he struggled initially with equations that required the use of square roots to solve. As we went over problems he started to improve."
"In today's session we did homework and a practice quiz over roots of polynomials. We used factoring to solve polynomials, discussed the relationship between exponents and roots, and added, subtracted, multiplied, and divided roots."
"The student had a quiz the next day. She was having some difficulty with some concepts that were to be tested on the quiz. I think we may have worked those out as it relates to linear equations. We will review that on Wednesday when we meet again."
"The student needs support with his Algebra 1 skills before we move to Alg 2, so we spent half of our session today on laws of exponents. I gave him 4 homework assignments to practice these skills. We spent the second half of our session working on German one vocab that he learned the first semester. Due for next week, he has to make flashcards of all the words he's unfamiliar with."
"We reviewed completing the square and working with radicals. The student completed several factoring problems without any assistance and also was very familiar with degree, variable, and polynomial terms."
"The student recently began studying exponent properties, and we spent the majority of the session reviewing and practicing these concepts. Overall, he was able to get the basics, but struggled to simplify products involving multiply variables and exponents. We will continue to work on these concepts during the next session."
