Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I were able to meet for a longer period of time for this session, and we got a TON accomplished. For the first two hours, we covered a wide variety of topics. We went through the problems that she missed on the midterm, which included concepts that mainly focused on certain adjusting entries, we revisited a bit of bad debt expense accounting (which she understood very well but just needed to dust off) and FIFO vs. LIFO (after we talked through LIFO and FIFO she absolutely killed it with her understanding of the concepts and the higher/lower net income effect + higher/lower inventory effect). I do believe that we made a lot of progress, and we will discuss any additional issues tomorrow."
"Today we went over more Accounting concepts in preparation for the student's final exam. In our last session I asked him to work on some practice problems from chapter 10 dealing with bonds, coupon, and market rates. We went over those practice problems discussing any issues he ran across when trying to solve. After revisiting the concepts, he seemed to have a better understanding than he thought. In the later part of the session, we moved on to chapter 8, which consisted of the different methods of depreciation. We were able to go over two of the three methods with some practice problems. He is going to attempt the remaining problems and method on his own for our next session."
"We covered a variety of cost accounting topics that are going to be on the student's exam. He seemed to have a good understanding of variance analysis, but I encouraged him to continue practicing problems related to the other topics."
