Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student has just finished a test today for biology. However, we did work on a big project that she had to complete for school in the coming week regarding Ray Charles."
"The student and I reviewed for her Geometry test over Chapter 8 and the properties of quadrilaterals. She seemed to grasp the topic readily, but needs to slow down while solving problems."
"The student and I worked on reviewing the second chapter materials for her test the following day. She is strong in Geometry vocabulary, but needs work translating word problems into geometric equations, so that is where we focused much of our time."
"We reviewed the homework problem and completed some review problems at the beginning of the book. Our goal for next week is to complete the math review, do problems covering all of the review materials, and then complete practice exams in the future. The student is doing well and is an awesome student."
"We worked on a momentum lab today. After that we did two worksheets that pertained to a quiz she is going to re-take Tuesday. We are meeting on Monday to make sure she is prepared for a retake. "
"The student has a final exam on the 19th of December so we started work on the assigned review packet. He had a couple of problems done when I arrived so I checked those answers and then continued. I could have sped up the pace to get through more problems, but I'm slowing down to make sure he knows how each step works. Our plan is to have most if not all of the packet done before the 13th (last meeting before the exam) so we can work on problem areas and review."
"The student and I created a few different prompts for him to do short brainstorming and writing paragraphs. For example, I gave him a prompt about whether we should have more fast food restaurants, and another short response on what ways he would prevent burglaries in a store. He is great at creating ideas."
"We worked with the student on some percentage problems as well as geometry and ratio problems. My suggestion for her is to continue solving tests from both the SAT test prep books."
"We covered a Harvard Case Study for a mining company. We went over five questions dealing with Net Present Value, Hedging of Exchange Rate and Cash Flows and Option Approach to Value. The student had to write a short management report covering all these topics in the case."
"The student and I have been working on writing prompts from the assessment test. I'm working on helping him to build his confidence in his writing ability through practice."
"The student and I went over many problems from Sections 12.5 and 12.6 in preparation for her exam on Monday, and I answered her questions regarding her homework assignment. I think she is becoming more comfortable working triple integrals; she sets up the easiest problems quickly, and is finding a good routine for managing the harder problems."
"Both students finished probes on receptive capital letters and oral counting. Student one completed mass trial for his missed letters and numbers, and completed a probe for expressive capital letters. Student to completed a mass trial for expressive full names upon prompting."
