Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"In this session, the student and I hoped to finish our overview of all the topics on the exam by going over the case study. First I had him do two programming challenges. He solved the first, a moderately difficult challenge involving arrays, without much difficulty; his first attempt only had one minor error, which he was able to spot fairly shortly. Though I anticipated the second, a problem involving modifying an array of Strings, would be easier, it actually presented more of a challenge for him; though he did ultimately solve it. With the remaining half of the session, he proceeded through an overview of the case study. This review gave him a much-needed refresher on objects and classes. He will probably finish review of this topic during the next session, and we will then proceed into practice exams that cover all topics on the AP exam."
"Re-covered basics (arithmetic, if statements, if-else statements, logic). Covered "While" loops, as well as some more interesting problem solving you can do with them."
"We went over how we can have classes and methods and create some real software. Next class, I am planning to give him an introduction on arrays."
