Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"During this session, the student continued to research for his project and write down points he wanted to include in his presentation on Buffalo Bill. The student has had a better attitude these last few sessions and I am very pleased with him. He is also getting better at formulating sentences and figuring out what needs to be said in his presentation. The only thing I have noticed is that he has difficulty reading slowly. I think the fact that we are going through a long book about his topic overwhelms him. So, I have been trying to give him reading breaks (where I read out loud to him) so he can rest his voice. In our next session, I hope to help him rewrite his notes to make them clear and chronological. Overall, it was a good session."
"The student and I began by practicing fluency and decoding with "The Giver." Then we answered comprehension, vocabulary, and summary questions for that chapter we read. Afterward, we discussed his homework wherein he had to write 10 sentences using infinitive verb phrases in English."
"The student and I continue to work on reading comprehension. Today she did very well. She was clearly focusing hard. Her accuracy has improved substantially since we began, but she still has trouble explaining how she got her answers and point to relevant details in the story. We are continuing to work on it."
